About Us

Whitemans has a long history of involvement in Gloucester and Gloucestershire. Many local families have instructed us for generations.

The current partners are Andrew Ewart-James, Nicholas Alexander and Ashley Wallace-Cook.

Andrew Ewart-James and Nicholas Alexander are Under Sheriffs of the County of Gloucester and of the City of Gloucester respectively. They are both also High Court Enforcement Officers.

Nicholas Alexander is also a past President of Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Incorporated Law Society, serving in the year 2005/2006.

We opened a second office in Cheltenham in 2005, incorporating Wells & Co. This has proved convenient to our many Cheltenham clients.

Many of the solicitors in the Firm are members of specialist panels in their fields of work.

Peter Whiteman, whose Grandfather founded the Firm in 1919, retired in 2001 after having sat as a Judge for many years. He is also a past President of the Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Incorporated Law Society.
