Meet the Team
Andrew Ewart-James
Andrew has been a solicitor for over 30 years. He is an expert in commercial property sales and purchases, leases and developments, and wills and probate, trusts and tax planning. He has been Under Sheriff of Gloucestershire since 2001 and a High Court Enforcement Officer, responsible for enforcing High Court writs. He is a member of the Law Society’s Property and Probate Sections, and a member of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP). He is based at the firm’s Gloucester office.
Nicholas Alexander
Nick was admitted as a solicitor in 1980, joining Whitemans in 1989. He was President of the Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Incorporated Law Society, 2005 – 2006. He was appointed Under Sheriff of the City of Gloucester in 2002, and is also an authorised High Court Enforcement Officer. He is a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel. He heads the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution team and works from our Cheltenham office.
Ashley Wallace-Cook
Ashley is qualified to practise in England, Wales and Scotland. He specialises in commercial property and company law, including the formation and administration of companies and business sales and purchases. He works from the Gloucester office.
Charles Price
Charles was admitted as a solicitor in 1983, joining Whitemans in 2005. He heads the conveyancing department at Cheltenham, dealing with all aspects of residential and commercial property sales and purchases. He also specialises in commercial leases, wills, tax planning and administration of estates.
Richard Thomas
Richard is a private client solicitor specialising in Wills and tax planning, the Administration of Estates, and all aspects of Probate and executorships. He also provides support to clients in their later years, helping them to arrange their affairs including the creation of Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection applications. Richard works out of the Gloucester office.
Rupinder Rai
Rupi joined Whitemans during 2007 and runs the Family and Matrimonial department at our Cheltenham office. She is a solicitor specialising in all aspects of Family Law, including divorce, the financial repercussions of marital breakdown and provision for children. She is keen to look after her clients' interests, whilst resolving cases by negotiated settlement where possible.
Alix Harvey
Alix is a Member of the Institute of Legal Executives. She has returned from Whitemans to take up a new position as the Firm’s Promotions and Marketing Manager, and can be contacted by anyone who would like to know more of the services that Whitemans has to offer.
Lynn Barden
Lynn is in charge of the day to day operation of the firm’s High Court enforcement division from the firm’s Gloucester office. She manages a team of officers to maximum efficiency and deals with all aspects of the administration of writs of enforcement.
