In claims with a value of greater than £5,000, it is in your interest to be represented by a solicitor. Whilst we cannot alter the facts of your case, we can help you to present your case in the best light, and to find your way through Court procedure. The Court rules are complex, and failure to comply with them can be fatal to your case.
The courts place increasing emphasis upon parties resolving disputes by mediation or negotiation. The Court will expect parties to take those steps before the case comes before a Judge. We have the expertise to guide you through the process.
In small claims cases, where the value of the claim is below £5,000, you cannot recover your legal costs from your opponent. This means that it is sometimes not economically viable to be represented in small claims, although it is usually worth spending the cost of an interview to take our advice in all but the smallest claims.
